 ata is created, transformed, and used. As data becomes easier to create thr
 ough cloud applications and self-service data marketplaces, data governance
  experts need to adapt to an agile new environment or risk losing sight of 
 data across the organization.\n\nBy implementing dynamic data governance, t
 he Department of Education has implemented basic data governance training a
 cross the whole organization to help business owners of data take an active
  part in documenting the data they collect and use. These users are support
 ed by a team of data governance professionals who assist with content revie
 w and sign-off. This method has meant that data governance has become truly
  distributed, with business areas more in control of their data, downstream
  users have increased trust in the quality of data, and the governance and 
 security teams have higher trust in the security of assets across the depar
 tment.\n\nIn this talk, we look at how the Department of Education used the
  Aristotle Metadata Registry to:\n\n\n
 Set up a data inventory for documentation of assets, including technical an
 d business context\n
 Customized how different users update content to capture information across
  the data lifecycle\n
 Developed a streamlined governance review process to support endorsement an
 d publication of assets\n
 Documented business owners to assign accountability and responsibility for 
 upkeep to executives and business stewards\n
 Developed reporting tools to improve awareness and oversight of data govern
 ance at the executive level\n\nThis talk will provide a basic overview of t
 he Aristotle Metadata Registry and how it supports scaling of data governan
 ce to hundreds of users to improve data and metadata quality while reducing
  the burden for business users and data professionals.\n
