versity.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=165&proposalid=16369\nThis discussion gro
up invites participants to explore the journey from limited data structure
to a near fully implemented data governance program. Rather than a one-size
-fits-all presentation, this session will foster open conversation around t
he realities of implementing data governance across an organization—h
ighlighting both successes and ongoing challenges.\n\nParticipants will eng
age in dialogue about foundational questions such as: What does data govern
ance mean in practice, and how should it be communicated? How do you identi
fy and empower the right champions across diverse teams? What happens when
initial strategies fall short, and how can programs adapt based on feedback
from both supporters and skeptics?\n\nThe group will also examine practica
l strategies for maintaining momentum, increasing organizational buy-in, an
d reshaping perceptions of data governance into a positive, value-driven in
itiative. Attendees are encouraged to share their own experiences, challeng
es, and insights as we collectively unpack what it takes to build a resilie
nt and widely adopted data governance culture.\n\nSpecial interest group (S
IG) discussions are small group conversations on topics that are new or spe
cific to a smaller audience segment. The format is casual and without any f
ormal presentation, and the objective is to engage all participants in
an exchange of ideas, questions, and advice, so please come with a willing
ness to participate in the conversation. \n
