FAQs
Q. What is DGIQ? And what is EDW?
A. The Data Governance & Information Quality Conference (DGIQ) is the world’s most comprehensive event dedicated entirely to Data Governance and Information Quality, and Enterprise Data World (EDW) has long been recognized as the most comprehensive educational conference on Data Management. In the Spring of 2025, we combined these industry-leading conferences to offer an unparalleled learning experience. And, in Spring of 2026, we’re doing it again at one of our most loved venues: The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa.
Q. When and where will this event take place?
A. Our next DGIQ + EDW will take place May 4-8, 2026, at The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA.
Q. Can you tell me more about the conference venue?
A. The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a Polynesian-inspired waterfront escape on Mission Bay, just steps from Pacific Beach. Surrounded by lush gardens, koi ponds, and tropical wildlife, the resort features spacious rooms with private balconies, a heated pool, water sports rentals, and both casual and fine dining options available on-site. This laid-back, relaxing resort is a perfect place for attendees to unwind after a day of education, discovery, and networking.
Q. What makes this event so special?
A. DATAVERSITY events are more than just regular business conferences – they’re an ongoing community and network of data professionals from across the globe. We continue to focus our events on educational programs that emphasize peer-to-peer learning through case studies, practical experience, and in-person networking.
Now, with DGIQ again joining forces with EDW, we’re bringing even more insights and actionable strategies together for people just like you – those ready to take their data-driven organizations to the next level!
Q. Why combine DGIQ and EDW?
A. With such a large overlap between the topics of the most-loved sessions at DGIQ and EDW, we decided to combine these two great events under one roof. Combining DGIQ and EDW gives us the chance to combine the best of both worlds while giving you a chance to network and share solutions with a wider range of data practitioners.
The EDW track will focus on Data Strategy, Architecture, Data Literacy, and Analytics, while the DGIQ track will focus on Data Governance, Quality, Metadata Management, and MDM.
Q. Who attends?
A. Good question! In terms of industries, every major sector of the economy is represented, though the largest industry groups are usually financial services, insurance, health care, online commerce, and government. The range of job titles and functions is also very diverse, including chief data officers, VP and director-level IT executives, data architects, analysts, auditors, and consultants. And increasingly, this DGIQ event attracts managers from “the business side,” who now make up almost 50% of the audience.
Q. How do I get to speak at the conference?
A. Most of the sessions are selected through a Call for Presentations (CFP) process, which will open in late October.
Additionally, some sessions, such as Keynotes and Panels, are developed through specific invitations to the speakers. There are also some vendor speaking sessions that are identified on the program agenda as “sponsored.”
